Privacy Policy

The Privacy Policy was written on 1 March 2024, then updated on 18 February 2025 to reflect the change of name.

About this Policy

This website takes data security and privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy describes how this website uses personal data, as well as your rights over the processing of your data, in as simple terms as possible. Your data is only collected when you willingly provide it. Personal Data for the purposes of this Policy is defined as data that can be directly associated with an individual.

This Privacy Policy cannot, does not, and makes no attempt to, override or conflict with any legal rights you may have regarding your Personal Data.

1. Scope of Policy

The Privacy Policy applies to this website, ndavies.digital only. This website contains links to other websites operated by third parties. You may wish to read the Privacy Policy of each website you visit to understand how your information is processed, as their Privacy Policies will differ from this one. (See Section 3.1 for more information.)

2. User Comments

When you leave comments on the website, any data you provide in the comment form is saved indefinitely to allow the comment to be displayed in the comments area. When leaving a comment, only the Comment field is required – you can choose to leave all other fields blank.

If you do not provide your email address, you will not be able to see your comment on the website until it has been manually approved at which point it will be displayed anonymously, nor can you request removal under Section 6 of this Policy as it is not possible to determine your identity as the comment author.

If you do provide your email address, you will immediately see your comment as posted, regardless of if it needs approval for public view, and also allow for a removal request under Section 6 of this Policy. An anonymized string created from your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Upon approval of your comment, your Gravatar profile picture will be visible to the public in the context of your comment.

If your comment contains private information, it may either not be approved, or be removed, at the discression of the website administrator.

3. Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this website may make use of embedded content to facilitate the display of external media such as social media posts, external videos, and images.

When placing these embeds, cookie-free/privacy-preserving versions are used where possible so that no advertising and tracking cookies are placed whilst visiting this website – however, if you decide to click an external link within the embed, you will be taken to a third-party website where ndavies.digital has no control over its content or cookies.

3.1 External links

This website contains links to other websites not operated by or otherwise affiliated with ndavies.digital – such websites are beyond our control, and we have no responsibility for their content. Clicking on a link will direct you to that site and their own Privacy Policy immediately applies. It is advisable to review the Privacy Policy of each site you visit.

Third-party websites may set cookies and use other technologies for functional, tracking and/or marketing purposes.

4. Cookies & Local Storage

In order to maximise privacy, this website does not use first-party cookies and no core functionality of this website requires cookie usage. Please note that in essential cases some embedded content and security functionality may use local storage.

Local storage differs from cookies in that it is only stored on your device and never transferred to the server. When you clear your browser cache, local storage will also be cleared.

If you find an unexpected usage of a cookie, please get in touch.

The following list details the use of local storage on each page of this site, and is correct as of the last update of this Policy.

  • Home: No cookies or local storage.

  • Contact Form: hCaptcha uses local storage. This is an essential function to enhance security and prevent spam submissions.

5. Purpose and length of data retention

Comments and metadata: Upon submission of a comment, whether anonymous or not, the comment itself in addition to any other optional fields you choose to fill are retained indefinitely, so the comment can be displayed publicly to other users. If you choose to provide an email address, it will be used to automatically approve future comments you associate with the email address as opposed to holding them for manual moderation and will also be held indefinitely.

Contact submissions: If you submit a query/message via the Contact form, or you send a direct email, the details you submit will be held as long as needed to fully resolve your enquiry plus one (1) month at most for record-keeping.

For information on requesting earlier data deletion, please see Section 6.

5.1 Security of retained data

All data is transmitted over secure, HTTPS encrypted connections and stored securely. Where possible this website utilises the latest secure technologies to protect your personal data. As a result you may not be able to access this website from outdated browsers which are not compatible with the latest web standards. Every effort is made to maintain this website to modern, secure standards.

Please remember that no method of Internet or other electronic storage can be guaranteed as 100% secure.

5.2 Data submitted by minors

This website does not allow the data of those under 18 to be collected. If you are a parent or guardian of a child aged under 18 and believe your child has submitted data to this website, please get in touch.

5.3 Transfer and storage of data

Data you submit is never transmitted to third parties. This website and its data is hosted on Namecheap servers located solely in the European Union, specifically Amsterdam, however ndavies.digital retains control over it.

5.4 Transparency

In the event of a data breach or other security incident, affected users will be notified as quickly as possible.

6. What rights you have over your data

If you have submitted personal data on this website via one of the following mediums, you can request to access, download a copy of, or have erased, the data:

  • Left a comment/comments and provided your email address. Only comments with an email address can be identified for deletion. In cases where you anonymously posted a comment containing your personal information, these can also be deleted.
  • Used the contact form, and your enquiry has been dealt with completely. You can also request that contact records are deleted immediately after resolution when raising the initial enquiry. If your enquiry is to have all Personal Data be deleted, then upon resolution all communication will be immediately deleted.

This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

All privacy concerns should be communicated via the Contact page here. When raising a Personal Data request, please provide the following information:

  • All required fields in the Contact form. Please explicitly state what right over your data you wish to exercise.
  • The category/categories of data you would like to request and/or have deleted and the associated email address if applicable.

As per GDPR, requests will be dealt with within one month of receiving them, although usually this takes no more than 10 working days. You may be asked to respond to follow-up emails or confirm deletion requests to complete the process. This avoids accidental deletion of data and helps prove the authenticity of the request.

7. Third-parties providing core website functionality

Please be aware that this website uses functionality provided by the third-parties listed below.
